Install XAMPP on Linux (LAMPP)

For some people, may not be easy to install Apache web server on Linux. Especially when I have to integrate it with MySQL, PHP and Perl.

But it turns out we can do it easily and completely install using XAMPP (Apache MySQL PHP Perl Crossplatform).

Open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T)
Make sure it is entered as a root
sudo su

Install XAMPP
First, download XAMPP Linux
Extract XAMPP to the directory / opt
tar zxvf xampp-linux-1.7.7.tar.gz -C /opt  

Operate XAMPP
Run XAMPP with the command
/opt/lampp/lampp start
Stopping XAMPP with the command
/opt/lampp/lampp stop

Open http://localhost or from browser

other parameters
Another parameter that can be used to operate other than start and stop XAMPP as follows:

startstart XAMPP
stopstop XAMPP
restartrestart XAMPP
startapachestart apache
startsslstart ssl
startmysqlstart mysql
startftpstart ftp
stopapachestop apache

Location of important files and folders

/opt/lampp/bin/XAMPP command directory
/opt/lampp/htdocs/Apache DocumentRoot directory
/opt/lampp/etc/httpd.confApache file configuration
/opt/lampp/etc/my.cnfMySQL file configuration
/opt/lampp/etc/php.iniPHP file configuration
/opt/lampp/etc/proftpd.confProFTPD file configuration
/opt/lampp/phpmyadmin/ file configuration
